Students are chosen by elections. Each grade level has 4 members
representing their class. Prior to the Election Day, interested
students are required to fill out a petition form requiring
signatures of teachers who would support them in running for a
representative position. Parents were asked to sign the petition
understanding the requirements of StuCo if their child is elected to
represent Horace Mann Dual Language Magnet as a member of the
Student Council. Another requirement was an essay prepared ahead of
time, stating the reasons why he/she would want to be considered is
included along with this petition.
Members were chosen for their positive behaviors, leadership skills,
and commitment to providing service to the school and community.
