Dress Code

Color and Style Restrictions: Students must wear solid-colored tops in red, white, royal blue, navy blue, or black. Tops must have sleeves and collars, except for spirit shirts which are allowed daily. Bottoms must be plain khaki or navy blue and may include pants, slacks, shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers. Logos, distressed materials, denim, sweats, leggings, jeggings, and oversized bottoms are not allowed. Solid school-colored sweatshirts, vests, or sweaters may be worn over dress code-compliant shirts, and hoodies must have the hood completely down.

Fit and Length Requirements: Bottoms must cover the upper thigh and cannot be longer than the top of the shoe sole. Shirts must be long enough to cover skin at all times during school hours. Belts must not hang from the side.  Clothing must not be extremely oversized or baggy.

Footwear and Accessories: Shoes with rubber soles must be worn at all times for safety. Hats, suspenders, and other accessories are not permitted. Undershirts, tights, and socks above the ankle must be solid school colors. Bags and purses must be kept in lockers throughout the day.

School Spirit and Exceptions: Horace Mann spirit shirts are allowed daily. Free dress days may be designated by the principal and include casual dress-down days, Spirit Weeks, and athletic dress-downs. All attire on these days must still comply with district policy P1475.
